FREE WEBINAR: Key Compliance and Safety Tips to Help Set Up Your Practice Right

Join Injectables EDU and guest speaker Lengea Law for this concise 20-minute free webinar covering the top five things to know before starting an aesthetics practice.

During this webinar, we’re joined by Sara Shikhman, Managing Partner of Lengea Law. Sara and her team have assisted over 1,000 clients in navigating the healthcare industry’s complex legal and regulatory landscape, negotiating contracts, protecting intellectual property, and obtaining funding. As CEO and COO, she has also led several multi-million-dollar ventures, including an e-commerce company that generated over $13 million in revenue in two years and a med spa that expanded from one room to 12 locations across multiple states, generating over $13 million in annual revenue.

Sara and Suzanne Jagger, co-owner of Injectables EDU, get in-depth on the top five things you know before starting an aesthetics practice, including:

  • Medical Oversight Requirements: Ensure you have the right medical director with proper state-specific oversight rules, as these vary widely by region and affect who can legally oversee the practice.
  • Choosing the Right Business Structure: Set up an appropriate legal entity, like an MSO or LLC, to comply with local laws and protect your personal assets. This structure is vital in many states with restrictions on non-physicians owning medical practices.
  • Good Faith Exams: Conduct a Good Faith Exam (GFE) with a licensed medical provider like an NP, PA, or MD at the start of care and periodically afterward, ensuring compliance with the standard of care in your state.
  • Product Sourcing and Safety: Always purchase FDA-approved products from verified vendors. Unauthorized sources risk both patient safety and legal repercussions.
  • Training and Certification: There’s no official certification for injectables, but comprehensive training records and a service log for each team member are crucial in case of an investigation by a regulatory board.
